-- Award-winning project scheduler provides PATH Concept Home builder with easy-to-use, flexible scheduling solution for construction of innovative, affordable concept home --
STERLING, VAFeb 7, 2007AEC Software, a leading developer of project-focused and business productivity solutions, announced today at the 2007 International Builders'
Show that FastTrack Schedule is the project management solution being utilized by Brighton Construction for America's first PATH Concept
Home, a 2,000 square foot high-quality, affordable concept home in Omaha, Nebraska. Brighton Construction is using FastTrack Schedule for
scheduling and tracking as they construct the home with a focus on the application of new technologies and processes to enhance durability
and production efficiency. AEC Software will showcase FastTrack Schedule 9.1, the latest release of their cross-platform project scheduler, at
IBS in Booth W4549.
The Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH), an initiative between the U.S. government and
America's homebuilding industry, is building a technological vision for our nation's homes. The PATH Concept Home is both a realistic
response to changes in American households, and a visionary statement of how technology can help the housing industry advance. The PATH
Concept Home is made possible with funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and donations from more than 40
manufacturers. The Concept Home demonstrates a vision for the future of housing that is flexible, efficient and sustainable.
"We are
honored to have FastTrack Schedule utilized in such an innovative and worthy project for the nation's homebuilding industry," said Dennis
Bilowus, President and CEO of AEC Software. "Flexibility and efficiency are core values of the PATH project and they are the hallmarks for the
products we provide. For over 15 years builders of all sizes have relied on FastTrack Schedule to easily and effectively schedule their
construction projects, and we're proud to have Brighton Construction and the PATH Concept Home team apply the program to this 'home of the
future' project."
"Given the unique nature of the PATH House project, we could not rely on our old, standard Excel scheduling system,"
said Fernando Pages, President of Brighton Construction. "We needed to add many new, unfamiliar line items to the process, sometimes on
the fly. The constant coordination with not only subs unfamiliar with the products and methods used, but camera crews and factory
representatives made scheduling extremely challenging. But with FastTrack Schedule, the challenge was manageable. In fact, from an outside
perspective, it would appear we had built this house a hundred times."
"PATH represents the first project for which we applied
FastTrack Schedule. The value is evident in the ease and dexterity with which numerous revisions and vendors can be updated and exhibited.
No detail is too small or too large for the program," noted Larry Douglas, Construction Supervisor at Brighton Construction. "We look forward to
expanding the detailed input and output available via FastTrack Schedule and employing it as the fundamental management tool for all
projects."
