Managing Construction Schedules
Course Length:
3 hours (with 15 min. break)

A basic knowledge of Windows and/or Macintosh.

Course Objective:
Learn how to assign and manage resources such as subcontractors,
equipment, and materials. Discover how to create logical dependencies
that tie activities together—ensuring that tasks occur in the
proper order and stay on track as changes occur. Learn how to determine
the critical path in your schedule, and track the progress of activities
that start ahead of schedule or finish behind schedule to determine
how these changes may impact your completion date.
Course Outline:
- Creating and Defining Resources: Set standard and overtime rates for your resource and individual work calendars.
- Allocating Resources: Assign your resources to tasks effectively.
- Tracking Resource Costs: Track your resource cost per task and per resource.
- Spot Allocating: Modify an individual resource's allocation per day, week, month, etc.
- Advanced Linking of Bars and Milestones: Setup project start date, constraint dates, constraint types and link types between tasks.
- Linking/Locking Bars and Milestones: Create and modify dependencies
between tasks.
- Tracking Revisions and Project Status: Track where your project has started early or fallen behind and the percent your activities have been completed.
- Exporting from FastTrack Schedule: Email your schedule to a client who does not have FastTrack Schedule, post it to the web, or use it to create a PowerPoint presentation.
